Students guardians appeal not to call bandh

Imphal, July 14 2009: The All Manipur Students Guardian Organisation has appealed the DESAM to review its decision from calling 120-hour bandh as it will hurt mostly to people earning daily bread.

Speaking at a press conference at AMSGO office today president, Y Renghang Chothe, working president N Chaoba, deputy vice president, Rajen Ayangba and general secretary O Yaima joinly said with the efforts of the students bodies including DESAM, use of unfair means by the students in the exam have been checked.

Detaining students volunteers of DESAM by the government under NSA is amount to invitation of mass agitation from the public.

But, imposing 120 hour bandh will affect to the day to day bread earners mostly, they observed urging DESAM to cut down the strike period.

Apart from this, farmers are suffering from drought.

It will also give impact to the normal study of the students.

The body also appealed the government to bring an amicable agreement to the 48-hour general strike called by Naga bodies before the commencement of the strike.
