Moreh, September 07, 2009: Irom Sharmila Chanu, who has long been on hunger strike for the repeal of AFSPA in Manipur, has been remanded 15 days judicial custody today.

She was remanded 15 days judicial custody after she was produced before the Court of Additional Judicial Magistrate, Kimneineng today.

She was arrested by the police on charge of attempting to commit suicide and has been lodged at the Security Judicial Custody of Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital.
