Imphal, October 27 2009: A person was found hanging on a tree in front of the Humanity Block of Manipur University this evening in a suspicious manner.

A pair of 'Horse Star' brand slippers was found near the place where the body was found hanging.

A bicycle, suspected to belong to the person, was also found few steps away from the place.

On seeing the body, a group of people had informed the Home Guard personnel on duty at the MU Boys' Hostel.

The person, believed to belong to Meetei community, wears full-sleeve stripped shirt with collar and brown colour pant.

He was brown in complexion measuring about 5'5" .

The dead body has been picked up from the place and deposited at RIMS morgue for identification.
