Imphal, October 29 2008: SOME UNKNOWN persons left a bomb at the residence of an Executive Engineer of Irrigation and Flood Control Depatment, Dolaithabi Barrage here today.

Police disposed off the bomb suspected to be left by underground cadres at the residence of Y Munindro at Yumnam Leikai.

Family members informed media persons that the unknown persons left the bomb without the trigger pin yesterday evening around 6:30.The family members did not know who had placed the bomb there.

However, the source said that some unknown persons had come to the engineer's house a few days back and demanded contract work and warned that they would take actions if their wishes were not fulfilled.

Police said that the bomb was a high explosive hand grenade.
