Imphal, August 22 2010: "Mirel Masingkha" the play of the Kanglei Mime Repertory based on the struggle of Irom Sharmila was staged today at the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal as part of an ongoing series of programmes on a 100 day countdown to 10 years completion of the fasting of Sharmila by the Just Peace Foundation.

The play has received many prizes in theatre festivals outside the state.

The play depicts the struggle of Sharmila who has been on fast for the last 10 years demanding the repeal of the Armed Forces (Special) Power Act 1958 .
