Imphal, April 17 2009: The troops of 3 Assam Rifles deployed in Churachandpur town recovered one Improvised Explosive Device (IED) 5 km south of the Churachandpur township on April 16, a PIB (DW) release said.

The troops under an officer of 3 AR operating under 27 Sector AR recovered the IED under a small culvert near Molbem village while carrying out sanitisation operation for safe conduct of the Lok Sabha election, the release said.

Meanwhile, the 3 AR troops have recovered banned drugs of RP worth Rs 9.8 lakhs in Churachandpur town around 3pm on April 15 last, the statement added.
