Imphal, February 20 2009: Sharmila Kanba Lup (SKL) has been organizing relay hunger strikes in various parts of the state for the past few months in support to the hunger strike taken up by Irom Sharmila against the brutal act of AFSPA till it is repealed.

SKL has also organized the relay hunger strikes at Thoubal and Bishnupur districts too.

Around 150 meirapaibi volunteers of All Kakching Apunba Meirapaibi Lup and Irengbam Apunba Meirapaibi Lup of Thoubal district took part at the hunger strike of Thoubal district while around 100 meirapaibis and women vendors of Nambol market, Bishnupur observed the hunger strike today.

The district has been organizing relay hunger strike for the past 14 days.
