Three slain men of Sangai Yumpham indentified

Imphal, January 15 2009: IDENTITIES OF three men gunned down by the security forces in different places in what police said are encounters were established today.

One of the slain men killed at Sangaiyumpham in Thoubal turned out to be a teacher of a private school.

The man killed at Seijang village under Lamlai police station by a combined force on January 13 was identified today as Paonemlung (24) son of Jangam of Ragailong while that of the man killed by the combined force of Thoubal police commandos and Assam Rifles at Sangai Yumpham was established as one Moirangthem Jenar (30) son of late M Birbal of Sugnu ward no 6 .

According to family, Jenar was a teacher of the M Ganga Academy, Sugnu ward no..9He went out from his home with one of his college friends named Siterson haling from Thoubal Ningombam on January 12 morning.

He was picked up by the police-commandos from Kakching, the family alleged.

The dead body has been received by the family today after post mortem at RIMS morgue.

The person killed at Longa Koireng by a combined force of Imphal west police commandos and troops of Assam Rifles last night has also been identified as naorem Rabichandra (28) son of Kesho of Wangjing awing Leikai.

According to the family, he was a mechanic and has been resting at home due to health reasons since the last five months.

He went out from home at around 11 am after contacting his younger brother running a shop at Khuman Lampak to deliver money he needed for deposit to the plot owner and failed to return back home.

The dead body has been handed over to the family after postmortem at RIMS morgue.
