Imphal, September 02 2009: Unidentified miscreants lobbed a hand grenade at the residence of an EE of IFC Department, Naorem Surchandra, located at Uripok Polem Leikai tonight around 9.44 .

The grenade fell on the roof of a makeshift shed near the residence and exploded.

But no one was injured.

Police came to the spot and collected the splinters of the grenade.

EE Surchandra told reporters that he has not received any demand letter from any underground outfit and he has no idea who might have hurled the bomb.
