Imphal, December 26 2008: One suspected cadre of the proscribed KCP-MC (Lanheiba group) has been slain in a reported encounter with a combined force of Imphal West commandos and troops of 23 AR at Chingnongkok under Lamlai police station at about 3.40 pm today.

According to police sources, the encounter ensued when the combined force, acting on a specific information, moved in there.

One 9 mm pistol and a hand grenade have been recovered from the slain KCP (MC) suspect, added the source.

The corpse has been deposi-ted at RIMS mortuary.

On the other hand, there was a shoot-out between a combined force of Bishnupur police com-mandos and troops of 7 AR and suspected UG cadres at Thangalawai Mamang Patton.
