Imphal, February 25, 2010: The proscribed KCP (KK Nganba group) has claimed responsibility for the firing attack at the residence of Oinam Jibankumar of Keishampat Kangabam Leikai at about 5.10 am of February 21. A press release issued by the outfit's publicity secretary Malemnganba Meitei said that the firing attack was carried under the command of twinkle task force commander Angamba Meitei.

The attack was carried out in response to Oinam Jibankumar's attempt to land some party comrades in trouble by hiring civil commandos, it said.

He repeatedly challenged the party in response to the party's appeal for some assistance, it added.
