Imphal, March 13, 2010: A live hand grenade was found at the official of the Deputy Commissioner, N Ashokumar located in the Ukhrul DC office campus.

Police disposed off the bomb safely later today, at about 11 am.

Police said the bomb was hurled by suspected undergrounds targeting the official quarter of the DC on Thursday last but failed to explode.

The bomb was discovered by some children playing there this morning at about 8.30 am.

A team of police bomb experts rushed to the spot when they were informed of the bomb defused the same and disposed off safely at about 11 am, reports said.

Police is yet to find out the reason behind the failed bomb attack to the quarter of the DC of the district.
