Imphal, March 10, 2010: Referring to the bullet wounds suffered by Advocate General N Koteshwar when a Minister claimed to have been fired accidentally, manipur Forward Youth Front (MAFYF) described the incident as yet another testimony of an influential few undermining the rule of law doctrine in Manipur.

On the otherhand, apart from the recent incident the fact that no visible action had been initiated when contraband weapons were seized from the residence of elected representative is a glaring example of partiality on the part of both the State and Central Governments, the Front said in a statement issued by its Department of Publicity.

Describing as sadistic and irresponsible Chief Minister O Ibobi's remarks at a private medical centre that investigating the incident is not necessary as the Minister concerned had confessed to have erred, MAFYF contended that circumstances leading to the injury of the AG need to be probed as ascertain veracity of the Minister's confession and intention.

The body also pledged unflinching support to any movement launched by All Manipur bar Assn on the matter.
