Imphal, May 09 2009: The proscribed PREPAK has refuted any connec-tion whatsoever with Ngangbam Nanao (27) s/o Ng Tombi of Uripok Polem Leikai.

According to a press release issued by PREPAK Imphal West District Commander Jameson, Nanao was shot dead by a team of Imphal West commandos at his own home in front of his parents at about 1.45 pm of May 7 on the alleged false allegation of being a PREPAK activist.

The outfit also rubbished the statement of the SSP Imphal West that one M-20 pistol, two live rounds, one round of 9 mm ammunition and another live round of AK ammunition were recovered from Nanao's possession as baseless and fabricated.

The outfit further observed that this was not the first incident where security forces allegedly killed youth in brutal manner in front of their own parents.
