Imphal, December 30 2009: Altogether 63 cadres of different outfits were eliminated by Imphal West District Police during 2009 till December 30 .

According to a press release issued by SSP Imphal West L Kailun, altogether 12 KYKL cadres were eliminated during the year.

The figures of the UG cadres eliminated by District Police stand as follows; KCP-10, PREPAK-9, PULF-4, UPPK-3, UNLF-2, PLA-1 and other outfits-22 .

During the period 356 people including UG cadres, arms smuggler and those operating as gangs were arrested. KCP tops the list with 129 of their cadres arrested.

They are followed by PREPAK (53), KYKL (48), PLA (44), UNLF (32), PULF (12), KRA (12), UNPC (6), KNF (3), KLA (3), NSCN-IM (2), KNA (2), UKLA (1), HPC (1) and NNLA (1) .

The number of UG cadres detained under National Security Act stands as follows; KCP-33, PLA-16, UNLF-16, PREPAK-12, KYKL-11, PULF-5 and KRA-1 .

Two police personnel and three IRB personnel were also detained under NSA.

During the year, 109 numbers of assorted weapons and 2309 number of ammunition were seized by Imphal West District Police.

The seizure list included one AK-76 rifle, 26 number of AK-56 rifles, one AK-rifle, two M-16 rifles, one G-3 rifle, five numbers of lathode gun, two SLR rifles, five numbers of carbine, 43 numbers of 9 mm pistol, 33 numbers of hand grenades and two packets (approximately 25 kgs) of explosive.
