Imphal, September 24 2009: The proscribed PREPAK and its Red Army have condoled the death of Lance Corporal Samurailakpam Tombi alias Lukhoi Sharma (25) s/o Khongnem of Sekmaijin Khunou and Huirem Imu alias Bir (33) s/o Tomba of Sekmaijin Khunou Litan Mathak.

Contradicting the claim of Thoubal SSP Clay Khongsai that the duo were killed in an encounter with Thoubal police commandos near a fish farm between Khoidumpat and Sekmaijin Khunou at about 11.15 am of September, a press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity and secretary in-charge Aheiba Angom alleged that Tombi alias Lukhoi and Imu alias Bir were killed in cold blood after subjecting them to severe torture.

Saying that Tombi and Bir were carrying two 9 mm pistols and one M 20 pistol, the outfit negated the police claim only two pistols were recovered from the duo.

Accusing police commandos of continuously killing innocent people in fake encounters, the outfit lamented that the land would soon become the 'land of widows' if such activities of the commandos are not checked.

The outfit also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved families of Tombi alias Lukhoi and Imu alias Bir.
