Imphal, July 22 2009: The proscribed KCP-MC has claimed responsibility for the series of bomb attacks carried out the Uripok residence of Hotel Nirmala's proprietor last night and at Shanti Hospital, Lamphel some days back.

A statement issued by the outfit's Information and Public Relations officer Puranthaba accused the Hotel proprietor of ignoring repeated appeals for assistance and instead conniving with security force personnel that resulted in two KCP activists suffering injuries.

In case the hotel owner continues to defy the KCP organisation more stern action could not be ruled out, Puranthaba added.

regarding the attack of Shanti Hospital, Puranthaba alleged that it was carried out as the private medical centre had been violating norms prescribed by the KCP.

Clarifying on the recent shooting incident at Oinam area that led to the death of LDA EE's driver, the KCP functionary said some vested interest had been attempting to malign image of the outfit by impersonating/posing as KCP members and circulating statements to the media.

The KCP was not involved in the shooting of the driver, who subsequently succumbed to bullet wounds, Puranthaba maintained.
