Imphal, June 21 2009: At least 10/11 members of an underground organisation were killed in a clash that erupted along the Indo-Myanmar border last night, said unofficial sources today.

Though details are not available, it is believed that the attackers decamped with weapons and other items after the killing.

Another source said that the 10/11 members killed belonged to a major underground outfit of the State.

They were killed when about 60 cadres revolted against the leadership, said the source and added among those killed one was a senior 'officer' of the rank of Lt Colonel.

The attackers/cadres who attacked their superiors numbered around 60, said the source.

The report however could not be confirmed officially.

Details and the possible reasons for the 'revolt' are not yet available till the time of filing this report.
