Imphal, January 20 2009: Claiming responsibility for the bomb blast which occurred in the heart of Ukhrul town at Wino bazar on January 16 evening, secretary of information and publicity of Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) C Rocky has stated that it was carried out by a special task force of the Naga Red Army under MNRF as part of its military campaign to make the public aware of their presence in the district.

In a statement, Rocky said that MNRF and its armed wing Naga Red Army understand the value of human life and does not want to hurt anybody before being well-informed of the impending danger.

Rocky said that Nagas in Manipur must understand the threats of NSCN (IM) and that NSCN (IM) is for the development of its own organisation and not for the Nagas/Nagalim.

''We were deceived and suppressed by the organisation in the name of Nagalim sovereignty', he said, adding that 'MNRF shall keep on fighting against the act of hypocrisy and imperialistic attitude of NSCN (IM) towards the poor Naga people.

''We want peace, unity and liberty in the society and as such NSCN (IM) should not forget what UGs could do against impostors'', Rocky said, while calling upon NSCN (IM) to leave the public free to choose the right thing and not to interrupt the relationship being built up between MNRF and the public or else NSCN (IM) shall be held responsible for recurrence of such untoward incidents in the future.

Meanwhile to condemn the bomb blast, the second in recent time, all shops at Wino bazar remained closed for today.
