Imphal, November 15 2009: Unidentified miscreants lobbed a Chinese hand grenade at a timber shop located in Lilong Keithel at around 7 am today.

The bomb, however, did not explode and has been retrieved by a police team.

Md Sahidur Rahman (40) is informed to be the owner of the shop targeted today.

On the otherhand, locals today staged a protest demonstration in denunciation of the bomb attack at the Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai residence of one Salam Maipak (73), who is informed to be the Managing Director of Imphal Hospital and Research Centre.

Speaking to newspersons at the protest site, a woman activist said a hand grenade was found at near the outhouse of Maipak at around 4.30 am yesterday, while the lever of the grenade was found near the gate of the house.
