Imphal, October 08: Reacting strongly against the release of NSCN (IM) leaders including its Home Minister by the State Government without any conditions, the Federal Party of Manipur today said that the SPF Government has bartered away its rights guaranteed by the Constitution of India.

Speaking to newsmen today, FPM spokesman S Ibohal said the hasty decision taken by the SPF Government without consulting the other political parties will not augur well for the people of Manipur.

The spokesman further said that the Government has violated the Constitution of India in releasing the IM leaders and said that Chief Minister O Ibobi has shown he is a weak kneed leader.

The same yardstick should apply to cadres of other underground organizations, said Ibohal who maintained that since the IM cadres who were arrested with arms have been released the others who have been arrested should also be freed.

Ibohal said that on July 6, 2001 a meeting called by the Prime Minister and attended by Advani, ID Swami and the then Governor of Manipur Ved Marwah had clearly laid down that the ceasefire is not in force in Manipur.
