Imphal, December 02 2008: The crime prevention and detection bureau (CPDB), which is attached to the home department of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has completed the preliminary round of investigation into the abduction and subsequent murder of junior sub-editor of the Imphal Free Press Konsam Rishikanta Singh, according to chief project officer cum secretary of information and public relations department of the proscribed outfit Ibungo Ngangom.

In a statement, Ibungo Ngangom said that the findings of the preliminary round of investigation indicates involvement of certain officials, most probably Cdo officials of the Manipur Police Department as well as some individuals who are reportedly on intimate terms with some Cdo officials in crime.

However, their involvement in the crime will not be confirmed until the final round of investigation is over and according to some CPDB officials, they are making good headway in the investigation and are also very close to completing the final round of their painstaking investigation, the statement added.

On behalf of the proscribed outfit, Ibungo Ngangom further appealed to the people of Manipur to resort to some strong action rather than seeking CBI probe or something like that, against killing of innocent civilians.

He said that people ought to remember that the sensational kidnapping and subsequent murder of Lungnila Elizabeth whose investigation the CBI undertook years back is still pending in the court room.

Given such facts, 'it would be foolish to expect the CBI to deliver justice for the people of Manipur.

The CBI is after all an instruction of the Government of India whose loyal armed forces are solely responsible for killing many innocent civilians in the name of counter-insurgency, the statement alleged.

Furthermore, the statement declared that Pamel Meetei has been appointed as the new fundraiser-in-charge of Imphal West District as his predecessor Wanglen Khuman has been put on trial for violating party's code of conduct and certain rules and regulations given in Section 2 Article-IV of the party's constitution.

However, all the pending letters requesting monetary support issued by Wanglen Khuman will be dealt with by Pamel Meetei from now onwards and if any individual or group of individuals want to make a complaint or query regarding anything of the Kangleipak Communist Party, they may email at [email protected] or [email protected], the statement said.
