Imphal, May 25 2009: A massive search operation was launched inside MU complex today soon after the killing of MU Proctor Prof Md Islamuddin.

The com-mandos led by the Imphal West SDPO rushed to every nook and corner of the sprawling campus in their attempt to nab the killers of Prof Islamuddin.

Security personnel deployed at MU main gate also maintained a strict vigil.

The second main gate to the northern side of A-Block was closed.

Cordoning off Boys Hostel No 2 (Koubru Hostel) and Boys Hostel No 3, all the students staying inside these hostels were kept confined in their rooms.

All the hostellers staying in Boys Hostel No 1 were called out and verified one by one.

All the rooms inside the hostel were also searched.

Although it could not be confirmed, three persons�� one from Hostel No 1 and two from Hostel No 2 were taken to police station for further verification.

According to some commandos, some incriminating articles/ documents were recovered from one of the two persons pulled up from Hostel No 2 .
