Imphal, October 23 2008: After the bomb blast triggered by proscribed outfit KCP (MC) at the gate of Ragailong village here claiming lives of 17 persons and causing injuries to several others on the night of October 21, Governor today convened a joint meeting with Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and DGP at Raj Bhavan to discuss the prevailing law and order condition of the State.

The marathon-meeting which lasted for 2 hours began from 4 pm and continued till 6 pm.

Besides conducting a detailed review of the prevailing law and order situation in the State, the joint meeting also discussed the issue related to streamlining of the overall security arrangement in the State.

Talking to The Sangai Express after the meeting, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh informed that the Governor has given advises to the Government on the issues of law and order in the State during the meeting today.

The Chief Minister further informed that acting on the instructions of the Prime Minister's Office, Union Home Ministry and Union Cabinet Secretary, a detailed report on the incident of the bomb blast has already been submitted.

Meanwhile, as part of the security measures being taken up after the bomb blast, barricades have been erected in front of the Chief Minister's bungalow from today morning.
