Imphal, December 22: Agitating activists of the Apunba Lup today burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil raising slogans at Nagaram Road, Imphal demanding the repeal of AFSPA from Manipur.

The demonstration threw the traffic along the busy Nagaram Road out of gear for almost five minutes.

While setting the effigies on fire, the agitators shouted slogan denouncing the decision to review the said Act instead of repealing it and the excesses being committed by security forces on the people with immunity granted under the provision of the draconian Act.
