Imphal, June 20 2009: Referring to the press statement of a UG group which indirectly related the incident of abduction of Yengkhom Krishnadas and subsequent murder after taking Rs 25 lakhs as ransom to the PREPAK, the proscribed outfit has flatly denied any connection with the incident.

A press release issued by Aheiba Angom of the outfit's department of publicity and propaganda clarified that contractor Krishnadas alias Thomas was not related to PREPAK in any manner.

Observing that some directly or indirectly involved in the killing of Krishnadas are already in the custody of police, the outfit claimed that the State Government would be knowing details of the killers.

It is more than clear that the particular group has been scheming to portray Krishnadas as an activist of an UG group just to deviate the people's movement against the killing and also to project those arrested by police as innocent, asserted Aheiba Angom adding there is no guarantee that top officials of the Government were not involved in the whole conspiracy.

The allegation that some PULF cadres were killed by PREPAK in the past was totally illogical.

This allegation was aimed at not only deviating the people's movement against the murder but also to sow seeds of misunderstanding between PULF and PREPAK.

Even if any such incident took place, the matter is between PULF and PREPAK, Aheiba Angom said.

Calling upon the people to study deeply attempt to link killing of Krishnadas with PULF, Aheiba Angom observed that such allegation has potential to ignite communal tension in unguarded moments.

Observing that it's high time for the people to delve into root causes of the daily killings regardless of whether the perpetrators were security forces or unidentified armed persons, the outfit also noted that insurgent groups too should work in accordance to the wish and desire of the people.
