Imphal, June 15 2009: Along with opening of a police picket, normalcy has returned to Central Agricultural University (CAU) at Iroisemba where four migrant workers were gunned down by unknown armed persons in the night of June 11 .

A static barrack housing 15 armed State security personnel has been opened inside the campus since June 13, said a faculty member, adding that setting up of the police picket has helped in restoration of normalcy and dispel the apprehension from the minds of the students from Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh etc.

It may be noted here that with the June 11 night carnage, the number of migrant workers killed in the last three months in the valley areas has reached 20.15 migrant workers were gunned down last year.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the carnage.
