Imphal, December 10: A joint meeting of Khurai Block Congress Committee, Block Youth Congress Committee and NSUI has resolved not to support the entry of any person involved in cases of corruption to Congress party.

The meeting held at the Chingjoibi Mandap at Khurai Konsam Leikai and attended by Congress leaders of polling station no.31 of Khurai Assembly Constituency seriously deliberated on the prevailing political situation in the State and decided not to support any person wishing to join the Congress if they have been linked to any corruption cases.

The meeting further resolved not to support any person who did not take up developmental works in Khurai Assembly Constituency or fail to release the sanctioned Local Area Development Fund for the same purpose.

Appreciating the role of MPCC member Thoidingjam Gopimohan in strengthening the base of the party, the meeting also unanimously resolved to put him up as a Congress candidate in the forthcoming Assembly election from Khurai Assembly Constituency.

Along with tabling of the Committee reports from all the 31 units of the party in Khurai Assembly Constituency, all the party workers have also unanimously resolved to join hands and work together for the success of the party candidate in the forthcoming election.
