MNC promises play fields in all villages

Imphal, February 07: The election manifesto of the Manipur National Conference (MNC) which was released by party president W Nipamacha today promises to provide one playground to each and every village besides working to safeguard the State territory and unity of the people and ensuring safety and security of the people.

Calling for a new social order, the party said it will bring social justice and empower the Municipal and Panchayati Raj institutions and District Councils for speedy development.

The party will try to end the revolutionary movement through peaceful dialogue.

Promising to frame a State Agricultural Policy and suitable legislations to check indiscriminate diversion of agricultural land, the manifesto said the party will also work to discourage migration to urban areas and face the challenges arising out of economic liberalization and globalization.

MNC will pay proper attention to horticulture, irrigation, animal husbandry, fishery, tourism, floriculture and imports and exports.

Vowing to upgrade infrastructure and.

facilities of the Indo-Myanmar border trade, the party said it will also go deeply into administrative reforms.

Arrangements will be made for constituting an Administrative Reforms Commission, it said.

On human resource development, MNC said it will frame a policy for transfer of school and college teachers and entrust recruitment of teachers to an independent body.

Besides it will also expedite the conversion of Manipur University into a central university and solve the problems in appointment of teachers of higher secondary schools and colleges.

The manifesto said road connectivity will be enhanced through linking all district headquarters by a circular highway and increase the frequency of bus services and provide ropeways in hill areas besides 4 lanning the NHs.

It said electricity tariffs will be rationalized and Loktak Down Stream Project and Tipaimukh Dam Project and other incomplete major and medium irrigation projects will be properly looked into.

One sports council for reviving indigenous games will be constituted and steps will be taken up for eradication and prevention of HIV/AIDS in Manipur, it said.

Promising to work on women empowerment if voted to power, the MNC manifesto further said it will take up steps for promotion of Information Technology.

A State Women�s Commission will be instituted to ensure gender equality, the party said.
