Imphal, January 02: Majority of the political parties in Manipur are likely to declare the lists of their candidates within two or three days as they have almost finalized their poll strategies for the 8th State Assembly election slated for February 14 and 21.The AICC screening committee in New Delhi yesterday studied the list of probable candidates recommended by the Pradesh Election Committee of Manipur.

The lists of State�s Congress (I) candidates may be available by Thursday night or On January 4 after a meeting of AICC Central Election Committee tomorrow, a source from Congress Bhavan said.

Veteran Congress leader Rishang Keishing is now camping in New Delhi with MPCC (I) president O Ibobi Singht o assist the AICC central leaders in the selection of candidates.

The Federal party of Manipur (FPM) which is expected to put up a brave fight against the Congress (I) may announce the list of its candidates after a meeting of the party�s Election Committee on February 4 at 11 am.

The BJP state unit is however still inviting applications from persons intending to contest the elections on the party�s ticket.

The list of the party candidates may be finalized in a meeting of the State Election Committee of the party on January 6/7.On the other hand MPP may declare the list of its candidates latest by January 10.The State unit of CPI may produce the list of its candidates recommended by the local units after a state executive meeting on January 7.
