Imphal, June 22 2009: In continued attack on migrant workers, a milkman was shot at and injured by unidentified gunmen at Sangaiprou area today afternoon.

According to police report, the milkman identified as Shiv Shanker Shambhu (19) of Bihar but staying at Majorkhul, Imphal was shot by three unidentified armed person who came riding together in a Honda Activa at Sangaiprou Kabui Khul under Lamphel Police Station of Imphal West district at around 4.30 pm today.

The victim was rushed to RIMS Hospital from where he was referred to JN Hospital.

Shiv suffered bullet injuries on his chest, back and hand.

According to information received by the press, Shiv Shanker and another friend identified as Ganesh come to Sangaiprou and Tera Sadokpam area every day to milk cows and then to deliver the same to other places under the supervision of one Bahadur, a Nepali fellow.

As Shiv was coming on his bicycle carrying two milk cans, one of the three unidentified armed persons shot him.

A note saying ' for every innocent person from among us killed we will also killed yours' was also reportedly recovered from the site of the crime.
