Imphal, February 18: Workers of the MSCP, MNC, NCP, BJP and the Samata Party of Phungar Assembly constituency have expressed strong concern at the manner of campaigning of the Federal Party of Manipur candidate in the constituency, Somi Keishing, who they charge is openly using the name of the underground NSCN(IM).

The workers, who held a joint meeting at Hotel Pintu in Imphal in this connection today, condemned Somi Keishing's style of campaigning, maintaining that this has created a fear psychosis among the public in the constituency.

It was also resolved that the workers and their political parties will not accept the propaganda of Somi Keishing and will fight against his attempt to gain political advantage by using the name of the NSCN(IM) in the election.

The meeting also resolved to seek a clarification from the concerned group as to whether it had given support to the Federal Party alone in the constituency.

It was also unanimously agreed that if any untoward incident occurred, it will be the responsibility of the Federal Party of Manipur.
