Imphal, June 05 2009: Contd from previous issue .

To the charge of the KYKL that the report submitted by Prof Islamuddin to the VC on April 21 and the clarification issued through the media on May 4 were different, MUSU said that it was natural.

Drawing a parallel between the situation that Prof Islamuddin found himself to the situation that Maharaj Bodhachandra found himself when he was forced to sign the merger agreement under duress at Shillong, MUSU said that as per the disclosure by Prof Islamuddin to some students, he was coerced to submit his report according to the diktats of the VC.

The true picture of the election process was announced through the media by Prof Islamuddin in his capacity as a teacher.

If the clarification of May 4 was wrong and if the report submitted to the VC on April 21 was voluntarily and consciously then the VC should have taken action against him, said MUSU.

Since no action was taken, it can assumed that what was said on May 4 was the truth.

The student body also asked KYKL whether the MUSU election is the top priority of its social programme to cleanse MU.

This question has been raised because there has been a killing in connection with the election of MUSU, said the student body.

The points laid down is not a challenge to the KYKL, said MUSU and added that if any of the words hurt the sentiments of the outfit then they (MUSU) may be given an opportunity to rectify, said MUSU.

It is also not a case of supporting Prof Islamuddin or blowing one's own trumpet.

Rather it is a testimony of the what actually happened and what might have happened, said MUSU.

There may be different view points over any issue, but ultimately the views of the public should over ride all others.

On the other hand the deafening silence maintained by MU authority even though one Professor was shot dead is signifies the involvement of the VC and the Registrar are involved, alleged MUSU.

Even if nothing exceptional is done, the MU authority could have at least declared a one day holiday to pay respect to the departed soul and to share the grief and pain of the family members, students, staff and teaching faculty, it contended.

As such MUSU is all set to take up a series of agitation against the Vice Chancellor , Registrar said the student body and urged all to extend their co-operation.
