MSCP releases manifesto

Imphal, January 27: Lok Sabha MP, and president of Manipur State Congress Party, MSCP, Th Chaoba Singh, released the election manifesto of his party today at a formal function at the party office at Keishampat.

The manifesto lays emphasis on preservation of territorial integrity, peaceful co-existence, youth and women�s welfare and social integration.

The manifesto also envisages wiping out the economic problems acing Manipur by adopting short and long term measures, improving the economic conditions of farmers, weavers and laborers, and increasing employment opportunities for educated youths.

It pledges to revamp the law and order establishment by strengthening district police stations, intelligence service, and women police wing, to replace Assam Police Manual currently in force by a Manipur Police manual and to make sincere and pragmatic efforts to initiate direct and meaningful talks with leaders of the underground outfits.

The manifestos further envisages land reforms, enhancement of health care facilities in the hill and remote areas, massive expansion of horticulture, review of the present state industrial policy to make it more employment oriented, development of the hill areas, and tackling of corruption by harnessing youth and women�s power.
