Imphal, May 26 2009: Along with representatives of JAC and PSO, bereaved family members of Prof Islamuddin met Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh late evening today.

During the meeting, the JAC submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister highlighting certain demands.

However, no agreement could be arrived at.

Consequently, it was decided to continue the talks tomorrow.

The demands of the JAC include initiating a CBI inquiry into the killing, punishment of the killers, construction of a memorial of Prof Islamuddin inside MU campus, naming the present library of the university after Prof Islamuddin and providing a suitable Government job to one of the family members.

Meanwhile, according to information received by the press, three student activists of AMSU arrested by Bishnupur District Police from Moirang have been handed over to Singjamei Police.

The police, however, have not spelled out in what connection the three student activists have been arrested.
