DPP manifesto stresses on human rights

Imphal, January 25: The Democratic Peoples Party, DPP, has released its election manifesto today, which lays stress on reconciliation among the people of the state, sustainable economic development, conflict resolutions, human rights, women�s empowerment, genuine state autonomy, a new education policy, bringing HIV/AIDS under control and the environment.

Elaborating on the promises made in the manifesto, the party president Khaidem Mani told media persons that if the opportunity to form the government, the DPP would abolish all artificial barriers that have come up between people in Manipur, based on wrong religious sentiments, including the notion of amang-aseng.

He said the DPP had plans for generating employment for about 50,000 youths by implementing new projects based on the existing natural resources of the state.

He said the DPP will also initiate a new policy to solve the problem of insurgency through political dialogue.
