Imphal, June 16 2009: Union Minister of State in charge of Rural Development, Agatha Sangma will be arriving here tomorrow on a two-day visit and she is expected to meet Irom Chanu Sharmila at the security ward of JN Hospital, Porompat where she has been undergoing her over 8 years old fast unto death agitation demanding the revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act.

According to an official source, Agatha Sangma will arrive at Imphal Tulihal Airport from New Delhi on an Indigo flight at around 9.15 am tomorrow.

At the airport, she would be received by Rural Development Minister Md Allauddin Khan and other officials from the side of the State Government.

At around 10.30 am, the Union Minister would visit JN Hospital at Porompat to meet Sharmila who has been undergoing a fast unto death stir for over 8 years now demanding removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Manipur.

After the meeting with Sharmila, the Union Minister will attend the function of 11th foundation day of NCP at GM Hall, Imphal.

After the function, the Union Minister would interact with mediapersons at GM Hall at around 3 pm before going to call on the Governor and the Chief Minister.

Later during the day, a joint meeting would also be held at the Chief Minister's Secretariat along with Ministers of Rural Development, PHE, Power, Health, Soil Conservation and Works.

In the evening, the State Government will host a cultural programme in honour of the visiting Union Minister who would leave Imphal for Guwahati on the following day.
