Imphal, November 08: Asking the Congress party whether it can secure 10 seats in the upcoming 9th Assembly elections, RJD State unit president and former Chief Minister Wahengbam Nipamacha has ridiculed the prospect of Congress in the Assembly elections.

The former Chief Minister was speaking in the political conference organised by Khundrakpam RJD Local Council at Shambei Lairembi Lampak today.

He remarked that the claim of the Congress party that it would secure majority was only a pipe dream.

He further asked whether 10 Congress candidates can get elected in the forthcoming elections.

Attacking the Prime Minister for laying foundation stones of different projects at Kangla together, he asked as to why the Prime Minister did not lay the same foundation stones at Delhi together instead of wasting valuable time and money to come to Imphal.

Reminding that the merger of Manipur with the Indian Union was done together with its territorial boundary intact, the former Chief Minister asked whether the merger agreement would be rescinded in case the Union Government is determined to alter the boundary of Manipur.

He also asserted that it's time for the people of Manipur to launch movements to uproot Congress party from the State for their alleged activities aimed at disintegrating Manipur.

Many other RJD leaders including advocate L Saratchandra also addressed the conference.
