Imphal, June 07: After repeated deferment the final hearing of the Thangjam Manorama Devi case commenced at the principal Seat of the Gauhati High Court today.

Senior advocate AK Phukan appearing on behalf of the Assam Rifles set the arguments before the Court of D Biswas at the Assam State capital, sources informed The Sangai Express.

Having heard the initial arguments placed by the AR counsel the Court fixed 2 pm of June 9 for further hearing, it added.

The Assam Rifles had filed the main petition challenging institution of Manorama Death inquiry Commission by the State Govt against the paramilitary force.
