Imphal, July 25: Asserting that the name of the VC of the proscribed PREPAK was falsely dragged into the Phoubakchao incident by the DGP, the PRO to the VC, self styled captain Chinglen today said in a statement that the VC is presently trying his best to settle the affairs of the outfit by arriving at an understanding and added that it is surprising that the name of the VC should be dragged into the case of clild kidnapping.

The PRO said that there is indeed a man named Roger in the outfit and he is the commander of lmphal West and functions under the home secretary.

The statement also urged all not to tarnish the image of the outfit by saying VC group and explained that there is nothing such as PREPAK(VC), PREPAK (GS) or PREP AK(HS).

It also questioned why some elements are trying to bermirch the image of the VC.

Recalling the statement issued by the VC earlier, the PRO said that he had asked all to stop kidnapping children.

The vQice raised against the kidnapping of children is jUstified, said the PRO and urged the people to cooperate so that those using false names as well as behind the kidnapping are unmasked.

Kidnapping children is not in the principle of PREPAK it asserted and asked the people to look closely at the clues so that the agenda can be unnearthed.

Stating that the outfit has taken a serious view of using the name of VC, the statement said that it would mete out harsh punishment to,anyone wrongly using the VC's name.
