Imphal, October 21 2008: Claiming responsibility for the grenade explosion in front of the Chief Minister's official residence in the night of October 19, the proscribed PREPAK asserted that the act was carried out to show the strike capacity of the outfit.

A statement issued by the outfit's department of publicity and propaganda in-charge Aheiba Angom said that the act may be assumed as a warning to Chief Minister O Ibobi.

Aheiba Angom alleged that the Chief Minister has been deducting certain percentage of money from suppliers and contractors under the cloak of democracy while blaming UG groups for lack of development in the State.

That Ibobi has become super rich is a result of looting huge amount of fund sanctioned by the Central Government while only a fragment of it actually reach the people, alleged the outfit.

It further accused Ibobi of buying MLAs with lakhs of rupees whenever there are leadership crises or political upheavals.

Rather than asking the MLAs to perform, the Chief Minister has turned them into contractors.

As long as he is allowed to continue as Chief Minister of Manipur, Ibobi does not mind about the welfare or rather hardships of the people.

Blaming Ibobi for killing arrested people in total violation of all international laws and conventions, Aheiba accused Ibobi of directing the security forces to kill people without bothering to take the victims to trial.

The outfit further accused Ibobi of committing war crimes against humanity.

As such, the outfit has taken up a case against Ibobi, it said.

Since O Ibobi took over as Chief Minister of Manipur more than 1000 people have been killed.

Questioning whether it was acceptable to kill a person detained in police custody after taking him out to an isolated place, the outfit asserted that Ibobi cannot deny all the crimes he had allegedly committed, the outfit stated.

Alleging that Ibobi interfered in recruitment of employees in all the Departments, Aheiba asserted that Ibobi was scheming to build up a 'private army' together with his wife.

O Ibobi, as a Chief Minister, has never paid attention to any complaint, appeal or representation put up by different social organisations/NGOs.

This only showed that he is opposed to the interest of the people, alleged PREPAK.

From now on, PREPAK would not sit silent.

If any innocent people is killed, the outfit would turn its attention to frontrunner workers of O Ibobi.

There is no guarantee that these workers may not be seen in the same light as O Ibobi who is allegedly trampling upon democractic principles and international humanitarian laws.

Saying that a list of Ibobi's main workers will be announced shortly, the outfit assured that it would take up its own course of action only after a detailed study and scrutiny.

However the same may not be applicable for some strong headed workers of the Chief Minister, it cautioned.

It asked the political workers of Ibobi about their future when O Ibobi himself has allegedly made all plans of leaving the State as and when is removed from the post of Chief Minister.

Exhorting the public to be vigilant so as to prevent Ibobi from taking away all the wealth he amassed which belong to the people, the outfit appealed to all concerned not to associate with O Ibobi who is allegedly least concern about the fate and welfare of the people.
