Imphal, January 19 2009: One sentry post of an Assam Rifles camp opened at Khenjang village, located at a distance about one hour's walk from Molcham village of Chandel district has been destroyed by MPA.

According to a press release issued by the UNLF's senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba, the sentry post manned by four AR personnel was attacked and destroyed by a reconnaissance team of the MPA at about 5.30 pm yesterday.

It claimed that the four AR personnel manning the post sustained heavy casualty, possibly death.

The incident took place when the MPA team on reconnaissance mission to attack the Khenjang AR camp found the sentry post a little distance apart from the camp.

Even though several security posts have been opened in these areas just to claim that these areas are under control of security forces, security personnel posted in such places have been caught in a panicky situation on thinking about the possible attack from MPA.

With the minds of security personnel always occupied with deep fear and apprehension about MPA attack, there have been cases of subordinate security personnel committing suicide, alleged the outfit.
