PREPAK (GS) urged to hand over missing kids

Imphal, July 13: A day after two kids who reportedly ran away from home to join PREPAK Cobra Task Force were handed over to their respective families by the outfit, the mothers of two other kids who have been missing since July 6 from Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Amureijam Leikai and Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Khong Ahanbi Leikai respectively, local club and Meira Paibis of Kiyam Siphai area have also appealed to PREPAK (GS) group to hand them over safely.

According to information received by the press, Akoijam Bipinchandra (13) s/o Akoijam Ranjit and Akoijam Ongbi Medha of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Amureijam Leikai and Akoijam Ajoy (13) s/o Akoijam Ibothe and Akoijam Ongbi Subadhani of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Khong Ahanbi Leikai have been missing since July 6 .

Both are reading in class VIII, Bipinchandra in Catholic School, Canchipur and Ajoy in Tangjeng Ningthou Flowers' School, Kiyam Siphai.

Bipinchandra has been missing after he went out from home at around 11 am of July 6 and Ajoy after he went out at around 3 pm of the same day.

While efforts are being made to trace the missing kids, at around 9.05 pm of July 9 the family members of Akoijam Bipinchandra received a phone call from an individual who identified himself as a member of PREPAK (GS) group informing that the two kids are in the custody of the outfit.

Talking to mediapersons in this connection at Manipur Press Club here today, mother of Ajoy, Subadhani said 'My child is still very young and his mind has not been fully developed.

So, please hand him over to me at the soonest possible''.

Mother of Bipinchandra, Medha also pleaded to the outfit to hand over her child to the family members stating that her child is currently under medication and his school examination is due to start from July 28 .

She further informed that at the time of talking over the phone, the caller who identified himself as member of PREPAK (GS) group had told that the two children have come voluntarily to join the outfit.

Nonetheless, arrangement would be made to hand them over very soon and not to inform media about the matter.

Secretary of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Wangmataba Amureijam Women Development Association AK Chiteshori who was also present at the occasion, while appealing for the safe and early release of the two kids, announced that all the mothers would launch various agitations if the two children were not handed over.

Meanwhile, various clubs and organisations including Kiyam Siphai Wangmataba Development Association; Social Welfare Organisation Kiyam Siphai Lamdeibung; Kangleipak Semgat Sagat Kanglup, Kiyam Siphai Ngathem Leikai; Royal Club, Kiyam Siphai; Youth and Sporting Club, Khundongbam and Khong Ahanbi Youth's Association, Khong Ahanbi have also fervently appealed to the outfit to hand over the two kids to their respective families.

A report has been lodged with the Thoubal police in connection with missing of the two kids.
