Kolkata, December 11: The Army today said it had documents to prove that Manorama Devi had "links" with a terrorist outfit in Manipur but termed the incidents leading to her death as "unfortunate".

"We have a number of documents to prove that Manorama Devi had links with the terrorists.

But at the same time, what happened with her was unfortunate," Vice-Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Santonu Chaudhry said here.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the launching of a fast attack craft for the Navy, Chaudhury said the incident had been blown out of proportion by the media.

"Manipur is not such a bad place.

It is peaceful.

The media hype has given another dimension to the whole story...this was blown out of proportion," he said.
