The amount was handed over to the representatives of the JAC formed in protest against the terror attack during a joint meeting with the Chief Minister this afternoon.

In all 17 persons were killed while over 30 others sustained injuries in the terror attack.

The joint meeting discussed the demands of the JAC which were submitted in a memorandum yesterday.

The demands include institution of a judicial inquiry into the incident, payment of immediate financial assistance to the families of the deceased and the injured, providing Government job and referring of the severely wounded to suitable hospitals outside the State.

As to the demand of instituting a judicial inquiry, the meeting decided to drop it from discussion as the underground outfit responsible for the attack has already made the claim.

The KCP (MC) had claimed responsibility for the attack.

Nonetheless, the JAC insisted that the Government gies a report in this regard.

To the demand for referring the wounded to hospitals outside the State, the Chief Minister gave his assurance of looking into the matter.

The Chief Minister also assured the JAC members that all the financial requirement on treatment of the injured would be borne by the Government.

Out of over 30 injured persons, six of them are currently undergoing treatment at RIMS, six other in Shija Hospital and three other in Raj Polyclinic, while the rest have been discharged.

Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, the JAC informed that it would decide the future course of action to be taken up and would not remain quiet, if the assurances given by the Chief Minister were not translated into action.
