Imphal, November 27 2009: The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has strongly condemned the killing of former Thayong Khunou village chief L Rejamkhup Kom alias Akhup by cadres of a militant group under SoO pact at his residential gate right in front of his wife and sister at about 11.30 pm of November 25 .

Observing that the murder was ostensibly inhuman, a press release issued by RPF's department of publicity chief GM Changjou pointed finger of suspicion about the possible involvement of 28 AR CO posted at Andro Laikot in the murder.

The outfit called upon all infeasible and parochial attitude of Nagas thinking for only Nagas or Kukis working for only Kukis or Meiteis struggling for only Meiteis.

To the RPF, all communities of Manipur are equal and as such it respects all communities equally, the outfit stated.

Rather than harbouring communal feelings, all communities need to embrace the ideal of harmonious existence.

RPF believes in harmonious existence without any discrimination or exploitation based on community, their size, and with mutual respect to identities of each ethnic group.

Larger communities should support and help smaller communities in preserving their identities.

RPF condemns any body or community acting against this principle of mutual respect and communal harmony, it conveyed.

Citing cases of Naga-Kuki and Kuki-Paite clashes, the outfit alleged that the Govt of India has been scheming to continue their role by creating distrust and conflict between different communities.

The Government of India has not only entrapped many hill people in the guise of 'peace talk' and 'SoO' but also sowing seeds of animosity among different communities, the outfit alleged.

Asserting that no single community can exist independently without other communities, it further accused the Govt of India of planting communalism and parochial feelings limited to their communities only.

The beautiful tradition and culture of co-existence left behind by the ancestors have been steadily eroding.

This was not because of one community arousing another community but this was result of the lost of right to self-determination of all communities of Manipur, the outfit asserted.

The outfit further called upon all communities to struggle collectively for their due political rights.
