Imphal, April 23 2009: The proscribed RPF has condoled the Red Army cadres as well as civilians killed in the Operation Summer Storm.

A press release issued by the outfit's publicity secretary T Leishemba accused the security forces of slaying individuals including civilians already overpowered by them in total violation of Geneva Convention Protocol IV .

Alleging that heavy weapons including artillery, helicopter gunship, UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) etc were used in the operation as if they were fighting against big countries like China and Pakistan, the outfit asserted that people's liberation movement cannot be suppressed by sophisticated weapons only.

Putting its faith in the saying, "People are water and insurgents fish', the RPF claimed that the security forces, working for salary only can never win over freedom fighters inspired by the love of their motherland.

Maintaining that the Operation Summer Storm could not affect the relationship between the people and the outfit in any manner, it asserted that it was the same case with other friendly insurgents too.

The outfit also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved families of the deceased cadres.

It further extended heartfelt gratitude to the people who extended cooperation to the outfit disregarding the possible harassment they may suffer from security forces.
