Talking to mediapersons today on the third day of the hunger relay strike being launched at Porompat PDA complex in support of the cause of Sharmila, convenor of the Lup AK Janaki Leima said household campaign to generate mass awareness among the people is the need of the hour to exert more pressure on the Government to remove AFSPA.

While seeking support of the people to the campaign, Janaki said the Govt has been remaining indifferent to Sharmila's democratic agitation of fasting for more than 8 years now.

It would be to the betterment of the Government to pay serious attention to the voice of the people and take up necessary steps to remove the Act at the earliest possible, she added.
