Imphal, October 02: The United Committee Manipur today said the peace talks held between the government of India and the NSCN(IM) is just like pouring oil into the fire.

The UCM's commitment to save integrity of the state is firm, the UCM today said in a press statement.

Peace initiatives are welcomed.

Progress of the talks should be revealed to the people from time to time it demanded.

The talks have some hidden agenda as revealed from the revelation that Senapati and Ukhrul from Manipur will be erased away from the map of Manipur including that of Tirap of Arunachal Pradesh it pointed out.

It is an irresponsible act of the government of India to force violence in the state it charged.

The government should not invite another Great June Uprising it warned.

The government should withdraw all irresponsible acts.

It is an act of disregard to the people of Manipur to make Manipur the sacrificial lamb to appease a nascent movement in the long history of Manipur which is in vogue for the last 2000 years it reminded.

We all know how the government looks to us it pointed out.

The last phase of the play enacted by India over the last 53 years has come it further said.

We should remember the slogan of 16 January, 2003 in which people declared to secede from the Union if Manipur is Balkanized it further said.

It would be wrong to ignite trouble by poking into the affairs of the next state to solve the problem of a state it further said.

The attempt to inject poison MLAs of Manipur by Naga Hoho, the frontal organization of NSCN(IM) had failed it further said.

It is reliably learnt that a meeting of the Naga leaders will be held at Tamenglong headquarters on October 8.The Chairman of the monitoring group will also attend the meeting to spit venom and argue for the breaking up of Manipur UCM further disclosed.

It is unfortunate that the centre and the state have failed to check the anti-people move it said.
