Imphal, May 18 2009: Suspected militants deposited two bombs including one at the official quarter of the SBI branch of Small Scale and Medium Industry in different parts of the state.

The bomb at the residential quarter of the manager Thangkharan Tunglut hailing from Bungmol, Churachandpur at Lamphel Supermarket was found deposited today at around 10 am.

Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, the manager said miscreants deposited the bomb at his quarter taking advantage of none in the quarter.

In the piece of paper underneath the hand grenade it was written to contact with them by giving a mobile BSNL number.

On getting the information, a police team rushed to the quarter and safely defused and disposed later.

The reason behind the bomb threat could not be ascertained.

Another bomb (a lathod shell) wrapped in a paper was also found deposit at the office of the directorate of settlement and land record block-A this morning at around 10 am.

The chawkidar who detected the bomb first informed the police who defused it safely.
